The below are the first set of rules for Texas Hold’em
- 1. Texas Hold’em Poker is a game that can be played with 2-10 players. One player is the dealer (also known as the button). The button’s position changes clockwise after every hand. The player acting as the button does not play the hand that they are dealing.
- 2. The first two players are usually to the left of the dealer. They known as the small blind and the big blind (this has nothing to do with size really)
- 3.The small blind and the big blind positions have forced bets of a pre-determined amount. They are the only players that have to put money in the pot before the cards are dealt.
- 4. All players are given two cards (known as hole cards) face down
- 5. After all “hole” cards have been dealt, the betting round begins with the player sitting to the left of the big blind player. This player can call (match the amount of money that the big blind has placed in the pot) or fold (end his hand).
- 6. Betting will continue clockwise, each player will have the same options, call (match the amount of the highest bet), raise (raise the money in the bet) or fold (end their hand).
