Decreasing Car Insurance Cost

In the 21st century many things happen, and they happen fast, way too fast than what most people can even imagine. Such is the decrease in car insurance cost. With the growth of the web, such a thing is bound to happen. Too many companies, too much competition, principles of marketing and consumption and supply make it happen. Just like any other commodity, the car insurance costs have been reduced with time to the extent of being affordable by the masses. Websites like carvalm let you calculate the cost of your car insurance, now that is simply amazing! Isn’t it?

In fact, with so many websites offering free car insurance cost quotes online, inquiring about car insurance and buying the same is not the same tedious job it used to be some 10-20 years ago. With this comes mass sale of car insurance and obviously the cost of car insurance reduces greatly by the same. If you come to see it, nowadays car insurance costs are just a little above 100$ an annum for cheaper cars. Now, anyone who can spend 10000$ on a car can afford to throw another bill for its premium. Only time will tell how much these car insurance rates go down in the near future…

Obstacles to a Benevolent New Middle East are Not Insurmountable

Posted by admin in Education

Many believe that the benevolent Middle East is an impossible pipe dream due to its long history spanning some 5 thousand years and therefore highly unlikely if not totally impossible. In fact they will often cite all the barriers in fundamentalism or insurmountable problems to overcome.

Many say that it is beyond hope to take a large population of the billion people throughout a very large region and bring them into the first world status of all the first world countries. And they debate definitely not in this present period stating it will take many more generations and each attempt which fails leads to another generation of hate and animosity for the next future period.

Many people blame the issues with fundamentalism in religion and indeed this is a huge factor however there is a large group of moderates Islamics and Muslims in Middle East who indeed are interested in change. And in the program to bring her Middle East and all people of Muslim origin forward for a brighter tomorrow many see increasing tension and do not feel any sense of forward progression.

However if you look at some of the nations in the Middle East we have seen change and for the most part a forward progression for mankind as a whole. Not in all areas, but in enough regions to say indeed there has been much progress in the last 50-years. Now then in looking back, perhaps we can see change over a longer span and should therefore not be so hasty to chock off the current progress as not being positive. Change of this magnitude takes time and it behooves us to allow for some patience in these Middle Eastern matters.

Intellectual Property: Counterfeiting – Government Consultation

Posted by admin in Law + Justice

Intellectual Property (“IP”) crime (counterfeiting and piracy as it is more widely known), has grown considerably over the past 10 years and is reported to have serious economic effects both in the UK and globally. Ineffective enforcement of intellectual property rights (“IPRs”) is a significant cost to industry in terms of damage to innovation and wealth creation.

On 15 June 2005, the UK Patent Office launched a consultation on implementing regulations that would make it simpler to enforce IPRs across the European Community. Directive 2004/48/EC (“the Directive”) is intended to harmonise best practice (some derived from the UK) across the European Community rather than leading to substantial changes in our IP enforcement procedures and practices. The Directive is aimed at individuals and companies developing new technologies and products to give them greater confidence that their inventions/innovations will be protected. Most business sectors should benefit from this Directive as many are vulnerable to the infringement of their IPRs.

A summary of the Directive’s main provisions:-

Member States shall apply effective, dissuasive and proportionate remedies and sanctions against those engaged in counterfeiting and piracy;
Member States are required to have similar measures and remedies in place to defend right-holders’ IP across the European Community; and
The Directive protects both ‘traditional’ rights such as copyright, trade marks, patents and designs, but also a number of other more specific rights such as geographical indications of origin and plant varieties.
The UK Patent Office is keen to receive responses from anyone interested in the enforcement of IP rights in the United Kingdom – but especially from those who expect to be users of the system. Responses must be received by 7 October 2005. For more information please visit the UK Patent Office’s Consultation website.

The UK Patent Office continues to work with enforcement and industry partners to fight such crime. The IP Crime Group has set out a four-point action plan based on the first National IP Crime Strategy published last August namely:-

The setting up of an intelligence database to allow enforcement groups to share information;

Training for trading standards officers to enable them to deal effectively with IP crime;

Establishing a base line assessment of IP crime and publishing annual enforcement reports to monitor success; and
Greater collaboration between national and international government agencies.

The European Commission has also suggested criminal sanctions to combat IPR infringement. The European Council and Parliament are now taking the Commission proposals forward for further discussion and development.

Negotiating Tactics: How To Strike A Negotiable Opening Shot

Posted by admin in Net Management

There is no right or wrong to fire up your opening negotiation…

There may be a lot of people who are uncertain about the right way to start off a fruitful negotiation with their counterparts. They tend to think or behave as though there is really a “right” way to start it off, which eventually will make them expect the magic word “yes” from their opponent. I speak from my experience. There isn’t any blueprint on how or what you should follow throughout your negotiation tactics, but perhaps there are several ways which you may want to consider.

Here are the 2 main important issues you need to consider when opening your negotiation talks.

a) Hear, understand and tackle the main issues first and foremost

b) Building a cooperative environment and getting the trust and respect from each other.

Say no to guerilla negotiating…

The first strategy is what I shall say, the most risky kind of tactic you shouldn’t employ. If you demand too much in the first place, you may provoke and outrage the other opponent, which in the end may set your negotiations into a wrong direction. If things are so hard and difficult to come by for your opponent in the first place, do you think if by any chance that they will listen to you in the long run? They may not be aware of the significance of the main topics that you are bringing in, but tackling it later on will certainly save you a lot of time in the long run. Build rapport first.

Fostering a closer relationship…

If things are too difficult to handle in the first place, the safest bet you can take on is to look for points at the outset that might bring you closer to your opponent. For example, try to get to know them well, have a small talk on their thoughts and principles and what are their likes and dislikes. This is something like an information gathering sessions, for what you’ve gathered may actually help you handle issues that are raised subsequently.

But you are advised to be cautious when using this tactic as the opponent may actually trying to outsmart you before they become more aggressive in the future. With this closer tie, try not to be too encouraged to give away information which you should not.

The final part…

Whatever tactics you may use for your opening negotiation, always try to give yourself an added advantage by kicking off the negotiation. You may be able to handle the proceedings well and to sum up matters which are more favorable to you.

Aloe Vera Research at Kew Gardens

Posted by admin in Medical Management

There has been a series of BBC TV programmes shown last year, ‘A Year At Kew’, in which the programme follows the work carried out at Kew Gardens, London throughout a full season. In one of the episodes, there was a feature regarding the growing and research being conducted at Kew on Aloe Vera plants. There is a special hot house at Kew dedicated to the growing of all sorts of varieties of Aloe Vera. The research team is looking into the known efficacious properties that some of this species of this miracle plant has.

A researcher within the team was investigating the varieties to try to discover if there is another species, other than the Aloe Vera Barbadensis that has equal or even greater efficacious properties that can be grown in different climates around the world, thus increasing the cultivation of the plants and its naturally known benefits. I will be waiting and watching for the outcome of this research and hope to take a trip to Kew this year to see what is going on there for myself.
Watch this space for up-dated reports!

Question posed by garden expert Alan Titchmarsh at TV’s ‘A year at Kew’ Christmas Quiz
In the same ’series as a ‘Year at Kew’, the ‘Christmas at Kew’ programme held the Kew Christmas quiz, hosted by the famous Alan Titchmarsh TV garden expert. Alan, who was trained at Kew, so appropriate for him to host the seasonal quiz in which Kew students challenge the Kew experienced tutors and gardeners. One of the questions posed by Alan was:

‘Which member of the Lily family produces a gel that has anti-inflammatory properties?’

Sadly to say, the students got the answer wrong. The correct answer of course being ‘Aloe Vera’

6 Sources For Hot Article Ideas

Posted by admin in Publishing

It’s an established fact of internet marketing that one of the
most effective forms of free advertisement is to write and
distribut articles to newsletters. As Stone Evans of Plug-in-Profits
said, “once you get one of YOUR ARTICLES published on someone
else’s blog or website, that article and the links within it are
probably going to remain there FOREVER.”

But finding ideas that jump off the page can seem a daunting
task. Many marketers stare at a blank screen, lost, as if hoping
an idea will emerge on its own. Experienced writers know ideas
are not created in a vaccum. Ideas, especially article ideas,
are like branches of a tree: Each grows from another.
Understanding this is the first step in finding the ideas
needed. Because the nuclei of article ideas are all around us,
in every day life. The trick is to see them for what they are.

Below are some excellent sources for ideas, ones that most
writers use without even realizing it.

1. DISCUSSIONS

During the course of many conversations, a clever writer will
naturally learn two things: what it is they, themselves, know
and what it is others don’t, but want/need to. Many articles
have begun from a casual remark or question. For instance, a
writer may be explaining their work to a group of friends and
mention RSS or ROI. One friend may interrupt, asking, “What IS
ROI?” and everyone seems curious. Voila`! Not only does the
writer have an article idea, but a title to go along with it:
“What IS ROI?”

2. FORUMS

In the forums, even new marketers will see others’ questions
that they can anwser. Because forums often bring together some
new and some experienced marketers, one thread can offer ideas
for several different articles. A newbie will ask a question
that is not general knowledge– evidence of this being that many
others’ view the thread and post responses.

3. ARTICLES

This source is two fold, but please do not mis-interpret this as
in any way endorsing plagarism.

– First, by reading others’ articles, a writer’s own questions
and observations can become the seed for article ideas. While
reading about ROI, for instance, the similarity between ROI
factors and smart shopping practises caught my attention and
soon “7 Shopping Tips For Smart Affiliate
Marketing ROI”, was born.

— Second, as a writer works on one article, an off-shoot of
that idea often develops organically. While it may be too
“off-topic” or diverse for the current article, it does form the
nucleus of a new one. During the course of writing this article,
no less than 10 other ideas have presented themselves. (The
value of these ideas and which, if any, will see the light of
day are yet to be seen.)

4. EXPERIENCE

Even the newest marketer brings to marketing some life
experience. If, indeed, one has no experience or relevent
content to add directly related to internet marketing, there is
always the “off-topic” article to be written. While this may be
used in non-marketing newsletters, the point is the author is
exposing his/her link to the world at large.

5. INEXPERIENCE

Yes, that’s right. Most think that experience is a basic
ingredient to writing an article. Yet, generally speaking, it is
often the less experienced marketer that will notice something
their more experienced counter-parts have over looked. Noticing
these things can often spur great article ideas.

6. BRAINSTORM

This is a classic writer’s tool and with good reason: it works.
Brainstorming is merely a matter of sitting quietly with paper
and pen (or word-processing software, as the case may be) and
writing down every possible idea, regardless of value or
judgement that occurs to them related to a given subject. It
differs from the sources above (which should be written down
ASAP) because it comes from stream-of-consciousness thinking,
from free-association, rather than a specific source. The value
of these, too, should be decided later.

The main ingredient in finding good article ideas is to learn to
think in terms of articles. That is, to see the possible ideas
when they present themselves and to grab hold of them. Sometimes
the newest writer can seize on the hottest article idea, once
they know what to look for. With practise, too, it becomes
easier.–mo

The Secrets of The Shriekers

Posted by admin in University Of Webbing

I am constantly bombarded with all sorts of advertisements, single-page sites, and sites offering very little real content but some wonderful new “product” or “service” for sale that purports to make its customers wealthy beyond their wildest dreams.

For the purposes of this article, let’s refer to Amazing Formula (http://www.amazingformula.com) as an example of such a site. (Note: I have never purchased this product and can make no claim, verification or guarantee one way or the other as to its effectiveness. The sole purpose of my mentioning this site is as a study of the ad copy within.)

There isn’t very much in terms of “content”; the marketing of the “bribes” is confined to a single page, with a hyperlink to “testimonials” which may or may not be legitimate. Yet, this site has been around in some form for nearly four years, according to The Internet Wayback Machine http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.amazingformula.com, with the same basic “content” and no significant updates. Why? Because it works.

What makes this website and others like it profitable, even without a significant content update in 4 years? The sales copy. The sales copy of this page uses simple, but effective techniques to trigger the user into buying the product, in this case a CD-ROM indicating how to sell anything to anyone at any time. Let’s look at some of these techniques now.

That’s right, I, Adam Senour, am going to give away millions of dollars’ worth of secrets to you and I’m going to do it WITHOUT CHARGING YOU A SINGLE RED CENT!!! No e-books to download, No expensive CD-ROMs to purchase, No courses to subscribe to, NOTHING! You too will be a website copy writing genius, able to sell your goods and services at will!

Short paragraphs. Users traditionally don’t wish to read long blocks of text. They like information concise, simple, and to the point.

“You” words/second-person perspective. This is arguably the most misunderstood and underrated aspect of copy writing. When reading sales copy, users are looking not for general information on the product. They want the answer to one simple question: “What’s in it for me?” Using words such as “you”, “your”, and “yourself”, while being generic in nature, go a long way toward establishing a website rapport with your customers.

Bold, Underline, Italics. Highlighting important phrases with bold, underline, and italics allows your customer to quickly scan and decipher the nature of your copy and the key elements of it. Bold, underline, and italics can be used in conjunction with colour to further distinguish vital elements of your marketing message.

However, it is strongly advised that you use bold, underline, and italics sparingly in order to ensure that only your most important points are receiving the full attention of your customers. Use bold, italics, and underline sparingly.

The colour coding of important words, and the selection of those colours. “Cool” colours such as Blues and greens are traditionally used to relax the user and put him/her in a positive mood conducive to sales; and “hot” colours such as reds, yellows and oranges are meant to incite the user into making a purchasing decision.

Headings and subheadings. Headings and subheadings should be used to break up long blocks of text into shorter and easier-to-read sections. In the case of the Amazing Formula website, graphic headings are used to break up the content; however, for search engine reasons, you may wish to consider text-based headings to split up your content into sections.

Bullet lists. These lists can be numbered, as this one is, or they can be unordered, as the Amazing Formula ones are. There doesn’t seem to be much difference in either event, as long as the copy for each bullet remains concise and to the point as in point 2; although the unordered list bullets can be stylized with graphics, as the Amazing Formula website has done.

A call to action. What do you want your customer to do? Where would you like them to go next? Give your customer at least one clear and understandable path to follow to make the appropriate action.

In the case of the Amazing Formula site, there are not one, but 2 “Click to order via our secure server!” buttons as well as an order hyperlink in the menu on the top of the page. The garden path, albeit a very short one in this case, is clearly laid out for the customer to follow.

These are the seven secrets of The Shriekers. Implementing them on your website should lead to a significant increase in sales and profits.

Aladdin Wedding Chapel of Las Vegas: Marriage Mediterranean Style

Posted by admin in Living With Relationships

Aladdin Wedding Chapel of Las Vegas will let you escape the
mundane to wed in a beautiful setting styled in Mediterranean
design. Graceful paintings of flowers and water scenes accent
the stately columns and rounded archways that set apart one of
the city’s unique additions.

It was here in 1967 that Elvis wed longtime sweetheart Priscilla
in a ceremony that lasted just minutes. Today there are two
chapels to host wedding celebrations. The Archway of Love holds
60 guests. A front altar is surrounded on the walls with heavy
wine-colored drapes. A central embroidered rug runs the length
of the floor from front to back. White, ornate pews gilded with
golden accents wait expectantly to offer guests a comfortable
seat. Garden murals, ivy-twined pillars, and wooden spindle
gates suggest a pastoral allure.

In contrast, the Sweetheart Chapel is furnished with the heavier
style of Mediterranean design pews in dark wood. Soft pastels
with plentiful pink outline a tenderly cozy room with colorful
murals and enticing latticework. The smaller chapel can
accommodate 12 guests to create an intimate environment. Desert
colors accent the classic styling to provide Old World charm to
the most contemporary romance.

The Love Me Tender package provides an Elvis impersonator to
perform your marriage ceremony in a true throwback to the King’s
era. Or you can choose the Magic Carpet Ride package for a
fantasy-based trip to the Orient for your nuptials. You can even
enter a contest for a chance at a free wedding to be held at the
Aladdin Chapel.

The adjoining hotel provides guest rooms and a casino for
before-and-after entertainment and accommodations.

You may want to practice dressing with veils and scarves to give
your wedding a true Eastern flavor, although this might be a
better idea for the bridesmaids than the bride. Or bring a few
lamps in hopes that your magical genie will appear to preside
over the ceremony.

Aladdin staff eagerly looks forward to answering your questions
and offering helpful information that can point you in the right
direction for your wedding plans. Visit the Website or get in
touch by using the contact information provided there to find
out more about the dynamic possibilities of having your nuptials
performed in an unusual, intriguing atmosphere of romance and
adventure. You can visit this chapel online at Aladdin
Wedding Chapel.

Maine in Winter

Posted by admin in Travel Management

For anyone who likes snow and winter weather, the state of Maine
gives a perfect vacation spot, especially northern areas like
Aroostook County with towns like Caribou, Limestone, and Presque
Isle hidden beyond large cities and heavily populated areas. A
visit in winter results in a different perspective than one
during summer.

Of the four seasons, winter most evokes extreme emotions. Some
people hate winter, the whole season: the wind and the cold, the
coats and the boots, the gray skies and the snow. Others come
alive in winter: the brisk air and fresh breezes, the bright
snow and warm fires, the skiing and the skating. Winter attacks
some places with more anger than others. Some places have
sunshine glittering on a snow-covered landscape; others have
harsh winds and blowing dirt. A Maine winter brings harsh wind,
bitter cold, gray threatening skies, bright sunny days, and a
Christmas card beauty of ice and snow.

Bundled in woolen clothes, coats, caps, mittens, and mufflers,
school children stand huddled in doorways as they await the
school bus. The wind hurls the biting cold through the strongest
of materials. People rush from warm buildings into vehicles and
back into warm buildings as quickly as possible. Eyes water;
noses turn red; toes become numb. Misery runs rampant as the
temperature drops lower and lower; the wind, strong and vicious,
makes the cold penetrate into the innermost core of a person.

Low, gray skies depress and press upon spirits as people attempt
their business of living, many wishing to hibernate the winter
away. Yet, many days glitter and glisten as the sun’s rays upon
the snow shoots sparks of light into eyes, causing an illusion
of heat on faces.

However harsh a Maine winter may be, no one can deny the beauty
once snow covers any barrenness and ugliness. Tall majestic fir
and pine stand under their mantles. Crystallized birches appear
at attention. Hill, vale, and garbage heap sleep under a blanket
of white which softens and hides defects.

Thus a Maine winter reveals a great beauty to rest the eyes,
cold and wind to battle, dark skies and bright sun to play havoc
with spirits. Yet, harsh cold and biting winds, sunshine and
depressing gray days create the whole, making the beauty all the
more unique.

Sales Master Asks: Can You Hear The Train “A Coming?”

Posted by admin in House Of Sales

I was pitching my consulting services to the founder of a company that makes daily planners, and like the good salesman he was, he turned the tables and asked me how I stay organized.

After bumbling around for a minute, thinking, “Hey, this is MY sales interview!” I responded that I use a miscellany of calendars and notepads and pocket phone directories.

Shaking his head, he responded, “Well that can’t last; it’s too inefficient. Sooner or later you’re going to transition into using a planner. It’s all-in-one!”

Well, his little recitation did it, and soon after our little chat I was using one of his firm’s pricey but useful systems, though I don’t recall selling HIM anything!

Every masterful salesperson inevitably learns one thing: Inevitability sells!

By this, I mean the argument, that “Sooner or later, you’ll own Generals!” which that tire company made famous as a slogan, is really at the base of success in selling.

Change is inevitable!

How do you think zillions of companies made the transition from using file cabinets to using computers to store and retrieve data? Believe me, they did not want to make the change!

They felt they HAD to, that it was inevitable; that they couldn’t resist the tide any longer.

And some savvy salesperson, or perhaps an unrelenting legion of them, made this argument, and like a shoreline that is gradually eroded and washed away, buyers came around and complied with the dictates of INEVITABILITY.

Find a way of getting inevitability into your sales message, and if you can, get prospects to acknowledge, aloud in your presence, that they’re going to have to make a change, sooner or later.

Once this admission has surfaced, you’ll find that “sooner” comes around sooner than you ever thought possible.

Plan on it!
